still waiting

I am now 40 weeks pregnant and still waiting for the little one to show it's face. We are trying to stay busy, so we don't go crazy thinking about it. Mom and I saw Wall Street and then we all saw the social network. We are all going out to Central Cinema tonight to watch Twin Peeks, the pilot and the 1st episode. I am looking forward to being comfortable in a booth and eating while watching! It's hard to go to a movie at night with such a pregnant body. We hope to also see Conviction and The Town while we continue to wait. Tomorrow we are planning on heading to SAM to see the Picasso exhibit together, hopefully Topher will get off early and we'll have some time to enjoy the show before it gets too crowded.

Yesterday we decided we needed to see a midwife, just to make sure the baby was okay. I was trying to walk and go to Yoga a lot, but then was told to try to rest more. Here is a photo of when Mom and I walked around Green Lake on one of the beautiful fall days that we have been enjoying, between the rainy days. Everything continues to be "normal". We have 4 appointments on Thursday! An ultrasound, centering group and then more tests to make sure we continue to be "normal". At that point I'll be 41 weeks. We continue to suggest to the baby to come on out, but it is still too young to understand what we are saying. They will let it go until 42 weeks and at that point we may have to be induced. I am doing everything in my power to speed it up, so we shall see...

I know people are curious about the baby, but there is no news so far. I am enjoying maternity leave and mom is here to visit. We are taking it easy. We will let everyone know when the baby decides to show up.

38 week update

I think I have started having Braxton Hicks contractions, but of course I am not sure. I have a few things to finish up at work this coming week, but I still want the baby to come as soon as it's ready. This morning I was looking up Braxton Hicks and stumbled upon the Due in November message board on Baby Center. It was nice to read about other women who are experiencing some of the same things I am.

In case you're wondering, I am fine, just tired of being tired all the time and ready to have the baby. The pregnancy felt like it went by really fast, until about 2 weeks ago. Work and my Professional Certification feel very overwhelming right now and I am really very ready to not be at work anymore.

Here is the nursery so far:

Tired 36 week girl on my way to a Sounders Game on a weeknight! It was worth it, they won!

36 weeks once again, this time in the nursery. We'll post some more photos of the nursery soon, it's coming together!

And 37 weeks!

Hello everyone. Happy Sunday! Topher is at work and I am home trying to relax and get some work done today. We continue to clean and organize the house in general and of course for when the baby comes home. We finally purchased a desk! We have been thinking about it for so long and finally went to Crate and Barrel yesterday and ordered it. We haven't had a good place for the computer, speakers, hard drive and printer for sometime now. We also bought a poster for the nursery and a mobile for the baby to look at. We put it above the bassinet in our bedroom for now and plan on moving it to above the crib later. We have some more furniture moving to do and are still looking for a rug for in front of the fireplace. I think then, we will be happy with the way the house is set up.

I am trying to not work too hard, I get tired easily, but there is so much to do before I leave! I have more swelling and some other symptoms that tell us labor is on it's way, but of course there is no way of telling when.

Pregnant Lady!

Heather can't blog today because the pregnancy thing is giving her some wicked carpal tunnel syndrome and she shouldnt be using her hands. However, she wanted to show y'all some pictures of her belly. Here's H. at 32 weeks pregnant:

Beautiful right?

here's 34 weeks:

And in something less stripey:

In other news we went to the midwife this week and found out that our brilliant baby is in the appropriate "head down" position and is getting ready to exit the womb.
This weekend we plan on packing the bag to bring to the birthing center with us, just in case they show up earlier than expected.

Have a great weekend y'all.

It's been awhile...we continue to be very busy. For me it has been work and then putting my feet up and watching t.v. or reading. I am staying on top of it at work and sometimes I wonder how. Not been perfect, by any means, but I seem to have found a way to be more organized and better at time management (Maybe because I really want to go home at the end of the day!). I made the mistake of going on a field trip to the fair on Thursday and plan on planning the next for when I am out on maternity leave, it was too much! We start a bevy of baby classes next week to add to our busy schedule!

I have started reading for pleasure again, which is wonderful (Fledgling, Mockingjay, Under The Banner of Heaven, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo and a ton of pregnancy books!) and a little bit for work (Learning about Readers' Workshop, our new wonderful reading program). Topher's soccer season is in full swing and prenatal yoga has been a godsend for me. This week he had jury duty and it was interesting to hear about it after it was over! Topher has had to take over most of the cooking and cleaning around the house, as I am either too tired or too nauseous to help out. I am lucky to have such a wonderful husband. I still tidy up, but not like I used to.

As I type this with my feet up, watching tv, he is out getting Thai take out for us. We are planning on watching Gaslight tonight and taking it easy. I have Pro-Cert tomorrow (booo), but I'll manage through it. I always do. I am losing steam at work lately. I try to eat more and not work too much, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The baby is running out of room and is even more active than before and I am pretty sure that is adding to my tiredness. I am trying to not buy more clothes, but my belly keeps getting bigger and many of my other clothes are uncomfortable. I did treat myself to some designer maternity jeans that have the full belly panel and those are more comfortable than my jeans that sit under my belly. There are a few more items I have my eyes on, but I am trying to be careful.

I have been trying not to knit lately, as my hands are having some swelling issues. Not sure if it's carpel tunnel or what, but I want to avoid that at all costs! Hope everyone is doing well and I'll try to post a more recent photo this weekend.
